The Project: A state of the art, environmentally sustainable, 9 storey apartment building in the heart of Richmond comprising of 42 apartments, a café and a remarkable skypark and roof top garden.
Boasting strong modern architectural design, this building is about much more than just looks. Beyond that captivating Exotec façade lies cutting edge, sustainable design principles with an ulterior motive!
The butterfly format Exotec clad façade is ultimately designed to reduce noise from the nearby train station, capture the sunlight in winter and deflect it in summer; responding appropriately to the solar orientation of the site.
The base of the building and street frontage is intentionally clad in a dark colour in addition to the Exotec façade which is designed to have a high level of glazing. This portrays a contrast allowing the base to recede and for the main building bulk to appear to ‘float’.
The Exotec clad façade creates a form which sets back on the sides and wraps around in the same profile. This created a technical challenge itself requiring specialised onsite support from the Atkar Team. Another quality project supplied by Atkar… beyond expectations!
